COLORING A BRIGTHER FUTURE

I’m so excited to celebrate with all of you my very first community mural for a teens shelter here in Miami! I’m incredibly proud of my community—everyone came together to make it happen, and it truly would have been impossible on my own.

It all started with a sketch. I designed the mural from scratch, dreaming up something that could brighten the space and bring joy to the teens at the shelter. Once the design was ready, we received generous donations of paint and supplies from our local hardware store, which made a huge difference.

Next, we prepped the wall by painting it white, setting the stage for our design. Then came the drawing phase, where we carefully transferred the sketch onto the wall. The final days were all hands on deck—ladders, brushes, paint stains, and hours perfecting colors, shapes, and details. We even added a few extra design elements so the kids could join in and paint more themselves, which was the most heartwarming part of all.
